National parks and old horses

We checked out couple of nice national parks in Kentucky. We got a little bit of autumn feelings because leaves were colorful (in fact much better "ruska" than in southern Finland) but still weather was very warm during daytimes (27 degrees Celsius). One week after we were around the area (Virginia, DC and Kentucky etc.) there was Hurricane Sandy and apparently weather was quite different :)

Mammoth Cave National Park

Mammoth Cave is world's the largest cave and its known length gets about 2 miles longer every year by new expeditions. It was very impressive place. Because it's not allowed to go into cave alone we took a 2,5 hours guided walking tour.

It is dark inside.

This place is called fat man's agony

 Mill Creek Farm

We found the retirement for old horses a year ago and now we went back there to bring carrots to lovely old horses. It is in Alachua, Florida. There is over 100 horses and dogs and a cat in farm. All horses have been some kind of working horses. Owners promise horses will never be ridden again after taken to the farm. Some horses are almost 30 years old, some are blind, some very skinny but they look happy and they are taken care. A vet visits them regularly. You can visit the farm on Saturdays 11am -3pm, admission fee is two carrots. If you are looking for a target of charity I highly recommend this one.
