DM course is progressing

We have been more or less busy with the Dive master course last weeks. We usually have some program  every day. In the evenings we are usually so tired we just go to have dinner and then to sleep. We have been doing the course three weeks now and we'll try to finish it within next two weeks. We extended our apartment to the end of September so plan is hit the road in the beginning of October.

Olli went to the whale shark boat at Friday but only saw the shape of a whale shark from the boat. But he saw the biggest seahorse (20cm) he has ever seen while diving last week. And he got to snorkel with hundreds of spinner dolphins when coming back from dive trip. They came right next to Olli and others. I wasn't on that trip unfortunately.

Next two days we will assist at the Rescue diver course so we'll act like tired, panicked and missing divers and students have to rescue us. We have to assist in two Open water courses, one Advanced open water course and one Rescue diver course totally. I have all done after Rescue diver course and Olli still has to do one Open water more.

  1. Good to hear of you!
We started to think that contrary to the common knowledge, a whale shark decided to eat you.
According to Wikipedia,Utila is first in the list of places you can see whale sharks. I hope you see a big one.
Funny how there is big difference between largest confirmed size and unconfirmed, but quite reliable sightings. Of course, I'd expect it to be quite difficult to accuratley measure the beast while it's alive.

  2. Unless I need to assist on an OWD course, I will go for another whale shark boat trip on wednesday. Hopefully we see one again and this time it stays around for more than 5 seconds so I can go to water and snorkel with it and maybe even take pictures. I was ready last time to take pics and video, but I never got to go to the water. Only few people saw it while snorkeling and they only saw it for few seconds. Maija saw her whaleshark for about 20seconds.

Two more weeks and we should be DMs and ready to leave Utila. It is a nice place but I'm ready to move on already :)
